What is MIM ?
MIM (Metal Injection Molding) is a forming process which combines the injection forming and powder metallurgy technique.feed stock can bring the metal powder to the complex mold and form the metal powder, is mixed with plastic powder, the binding agent, to produce the feed stock. The molten feed stock then is fed into the injection machine. With the fluidity of the feed stock, the MIM part can be injected to any complex shape. The injected workpiece then undergoes the de-binding process to remove the binding agent. After sintering process, the workpiece goes to its final shape and put to machining (milling, tapping,.) or any finishing process (sand blasting, plating).
The advantage of MIM
A. Plenty of materials for application : Stainless steel (316L) , Nickel alloy (FN08), Chrome-Molybdenum alloy (4140) and Nickel-Cobalt alloy (KOVAR).
B. Feasible for complex part geometry : Through injection process, the complex part is producible with slider and slant guide pins implemented in mold tooling structure
C. High Strength: The MIM part can reach to 95% of the normal material strength.
D. MIM parts are suitable for mass production.
E. Reduce manufacture cost : For complex geometry parts, most of the contour machining can be omitted and machining cost can be reduced.
F. Wide application : Replace parts in consumer, communication and computer products. aerospace , defense and tool industry.
Dedication in innovation of MIM mold tooling and fabrication process : With professional development team and un-compromised quality system and stringent production system, Jarllytec is committed to qyuckly deliver quality parts and glad to join the customer NPI projects.
