What is Moldflow Analysis
Moldflow analysis (MFA) is a computer assisted engineering application to emulate the molten material flow, fill and forming process behavior. With 3D mold geometry (runner, gate, core, cavity, venting and coolant route) and process parameter (temperature, pressure) and material property, MFA can help discover potential issues during the injection forming process in 3D display before hard tooling kick-off. Iterative mold revision and process tuning can optimize the MIM molding and fabrication process.
The mold designer can have a complete view of the MIM forming process through the vivid 3D color ful contour, charts and animation, we can see the material filling and temperature, pressure change during the iinjection and cooling process. With the defined scripts, the analysis reporting can be quick and comprehensive to help the mold designer quickly find the improvement solution.
The MFA can deliver exact analysis and highlight the potential issue in the injection forming process. The mold designer can come out the improvement proposal to part designer with reference to the exact MFA report.
